General exemption from the requirements of SERA.5005(b) (Visual Flight Rules) for helicopters engaged on Search and Rescue, Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) or police operations or training flights.

Permission under SERA.5010 (Special VFR in control zones) for ATC units to issue Special VFR clearances to Search and Rescue, Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) or police helicopters other than in accordance with SERA.5010(b).
