In August 2012, the Government tasked the Civil Aviation Authority under section 16 of the Civil Aviation Act 1982 to undertake a detailed review to better understand the operational requirements of the commercial spaceplane industry. This report is the culmination of some 18 months of work undertaken by the Civil Aviation Authority and the UK Space Agency, and is published alongside a full technical report, providing more detailed analysis and evidence to support the recommendations made.
