This document was created to provide UK certificated Air Traffic Control (ATC) Training Organisations (TO/ITO) with detailed UK national differences/requirements and objectives for UK Initial training courses, APC’s, and Adapted UEC’s for licence exchange cases.

The UK CAA requires these courses to be complemented with content specific to the national environment as authorised by Regulation (EU) 2015/340, ATCO.D.010 (e).

Edition 2 has had major review, due to numerous documentary and regulatory changes.

A significant addition is the Appendices: Appendix A (UK Phraseology), Appendix B (UK SRA requirements) and Appendix C (UK Initial Training ‘Terminal objectives’).

Appendix C is included as due to an error they were not subsumed when removed from CAP 584, as previously intended. Any Initial training courses, APC’s and Adapted UEC’s must consist of practical assessments that meet these terminal objective levels as a minimum.
