You must have an Operational Authorisation from us if you want to drop articles from your drone or other unmanned aircraft.
Dangerous goods
You must get an additional approval from us before using your drone or unmanned aircraft to carry dangerous goods.
This approval is in addition to the requirement to have an Operational Authorisation.
You can apply for an Operational Authorisation while you're waiting for approval to carry dangerous goods, but your Operational Authorisation will specify that you have the approval in place.
For more information, see our Guidance on the Carriage of Dangerous Goods as Cargo for UAS/RPAS Operators in the Specific Category (CAP 2555)(opens in a new tab).
