Use this service to register your organisation for an Operator ID if it's responsible for drones or model aircraft.
Examples of organisations that may need to register include businesses, schools, colleges, universities, voluntary organisations, clubs and charities.
It is against the law to use drones and model aircraft without the right registration.
You can use the same Operator ID to label all your drones and model aircraft.
You cannot add an Operator ID for an organisation to a Flyer ID.
You cannot add a Flyer ID to your registration for an organisation Operator ID.
If you also need a Flyer ID, you must get it using a different email address.
Price
Registration for an Operator ID costs £11.79 and is valid for 1 year.
Choosing your accountable manager
You must name a person as accountable for drones and model aircraft in your organisation. This person is called the accountable manager.
The accountable manager is responsible for making sure that the organisation operates drones and model aircraft safely and legally.
An organisation can change its accountable manager at any time. The accountable manager details must always be up to date.
Once you're registered, you can manage your accountable manager details the My registration area.
Before you start
You'll need:
- the accountable manager's home address and contact details
- the organisation’s registered number, for example its registered company number or charity number
- an email address that you can check when registering
- a debit or credit card
- details of any insurance required (opens in a new tab)
Holders of other authorisations, permissions or exemptions
You still need an Operator ID even if you already have:
- an existing operational authorisation from the CAA
- a flight permission from any other organisation, such as an airport
