The process of defining and measuring the complexity of an aviation entity, the gathering of safety risk and performance information, assessing the entity's performance to manage their safety risks, engaging with the entity's accountable manager and directing regulatory future oversight activity to enhance safety, is known as Risk Based Oversight (RBO).
