UK Civil Aviation Regulations

These are published by the CAA on our UK Regulations pages. EU Regulations and EASA Access Guides published by EASA no longer apply in the UK. Our website and publications are being reviewed to update all references. Any references to EU law and EASA Access guides should be disregarded and where applicable the equivalent UK versions referred to instead.

This note has been prepared by the CAA as an aid to understanding by airport operators, airlines and other interested parties of the practical implications of the change from the current to the new framework for airport economic regulation set out in Part 1 of the Civil Aviation Act 2012.

The changes are significant and wide-ranging. They will have different impacts on those airports that are currently “non-designated” and those that are “designated”.
